The Kano state Police command today Dec. 24th arrested a 13 year old
girl identified as Zahra'u Babban Gida who was found with explosives
strapped on her body opposite the Kantin-Kwari textile market, same
place where two female suicide bombers detonated bombs two weeks ago
killing many.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Tashid Aderile Shinaba said
she was arrested by police officers who found her moves suspicious.
When interrogated, the young girl said her father was the one who took
her to the people who strapped her with the bombs.
According to her, the unknown men told her she had to carry out the
suicide attack in order to make heaven. She said the men told her they
would kill her if she doesn't follow through with the bomb attack.
The Kano state government however said that the young girl was not one
of the missing Chibok girls.
This 13 year old girl (pictured above) wearing an explosives-packed vest
was arrested in Kano state yesterday December 11th. The girl was
arrested after she and a male accomplice walked into a clinic seeking
medical treatment. Suspicious hospital staff alerted police who
immediately arrested the two.
On searching her, Police discovered explosives hidden under her hijab.
The police later revealed that the young girl was from Bauchi and was
part of the 'suicide team' that attacked a market in Kano on Wednesday
Dec. 10th.
Two
female suicide bombers have struck a crowded market in Maiduguri the
Borno state capital early this morning killing several people.
Eyewitness told Saharareporters that the suicide bombers detonated
their explosives across from the Monday market in the metropolis this
morning around 11:30 AM.

Yesterday (12/11/2014) was a tragic day in the history of Federal College of
Education, Kontagora, Niger State when a female suicide bomber who
pretended as a berger was heading towards one of the school lecture hall
before the bomb exploded and injured many students.
Today (13/11/2014) in Minna the capital of Niger State, two suicide bombers was
spotted at Mariam Babangida Girls Secondary School. One tried entering
dressed up as a student with hijab on her while the other was in the car
on standby. Luckily, the security on guard suspected the female suicide
bomber when she was approaching the school gate. They asked her to lift
up her hijab, on doing so, a bomb was seen wrapped on her. Funny but
serious issue, the security man took to his heels when he saw the bomb (
even me self will run ooo). Eventually, the suicide bombers ran away
without being caught.
Rumour going on that a letter was served to IBB primary school, minna
and the Minna Central market by unknown people that sooner or later,
they should expect an attack.
My advice, if you reside in minna or Niger State as a whole, please and
please am begging you, avoid staying in a amidst plenty people, its
dangerous.

Coordinator of National Information Centre, Mr Mike says security forces stopped a car in Kano’s neighbouring state of Katsina today and arrested three suspected Boko Haram members.
The group included one male and two girls, aged 18 and 10.
The older two tried to flee, according to Omeri’s statement.
The “10-year-old … was discovered to have been strapped with an explosive belt,” he said.
The chilling trend of deploying young women and girls as bombers comes three-and-half months after Boko Haram kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls from the remote town of Chibok in the northeast.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau boasted about the mass abductions in a video during which he threatened to sell the girls as slaves.
The Chibok abductions prompted a social media campaign that went viral and drew unprecedented global attention to Boko Haram’s extremist uprising, which the group says is aimed at creating a strict Islamic state in the mainly Muslim north.
In the weeks following the kidnappings, some prominent jihadi websites had posts condemning the Nigerian group’s extreme tactics.

Nigeria has repeatedly insisted that it knows where the girls are, while President Goodluck Jonathan and top military officials have suggested they will be brought home safely soon.
But little progress has been made in securing their release while the violence appears to be escalating across the north and centre of the country.
More than 2,000 civilians have been killed this year, making the first half of 2014 one of the deadliest stretches of the insurgency.
Attacks had been concentrated in the remote northeast, Boko Haram’s stronghold, but waves of strikes since April in major cities including the capital Abuja have underscored the grave threat the Islamists pose to Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country and top oil producer.

Troops
are holding a man suspected to be connected with the explosion targeted
at General Buhari on Wednesday. The young man who was apprehended by
military patrol team that swooped on the area immediately after the
explosion, had disguised as a woman clad in female garb to exude
femininity with a brazier affixed to his chest.
The suspect was arrested while trying to fizzle into a crowd of
onlookers when the patrol team arrived the scene. Youths in the area
attempted to mob him while he was being arrested but were restrained by
troops who quickly whisked him away in an armoured personnel carrier. He is currently being interrogated by security agencies in a bid to ascertain his links
