ISIS accepts Boko Haram's plea of allegiance

According to AFP, ISIS has now accepted the allegiance of Boko Haram. Find the report below...
The Islamic State group has welcomed a pledge of allegiance to it made by the Nigerian jihadist organisation Boko Haram, according to an audiotape Thursday purportedly from its spokesman.
"We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph... has accepted the allegiance of our brothers of the Sunni group for preaching and the jihad," IS spokesman Mohammed al-Adnani said in the message, using the Arabic name for Boko Haram.
Itself a radical Sunni Muslim movement, IS has seized large swathes of Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic "caliphate" there, and has also drawn expressions of allegiance from jihadists in Egypt and Libya.
On Saturday, an audiotape attributed to Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said "we announce our allegiance to the Caliph of the Muslims, Ibrahim ibn Awad ibn Ibrahim al-Husseini al-Qurashi," referring to IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
Shekau has previously mentioned Baghdadi in video messages yet stopped short of pledging formal allegiance.
But there have been increasing signs that the Nigerian militants, whose six-year insurgency has claimed more than 13,000 lives and left 1.5 million people homeless, have been seeking a closer tie-up.
IS spokesman Adnani urged Muslims to join militants in West Africa and insisted that the caliphate was growing.
"Our caliphate is resisting and it is advancing in the right direction. We are fighting the Crusaders and the rafidah (Shiites) and day by day the Islamic State is becoming strong," he said.
He insisted that the jihadist group is "sure of its victory" regardless of the challenges it is facing.
For months, IS has been targeted with air strikes from a coalition led by the United States and suffered territorial setbacks in Syria and Iraq.
And Iraqi government forces have closed on the city of Tikrit this week in a bid to retake it from the group.

No fewer than 750 women from the All Progressives party from the 23 local governments in Sokoto State on Tuesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party.

The decampees, led by Luba Dubai, an APC chieftain, were received by the state Chairman’s wife, Sa’adiya Milgoma, at the PDP women rally in Sokoto on Tuesday.

“The new entrants will be treated equally and fairly, and we should all work to ensure the success of the party at the forthcoming polls at all levels,’’ Ms. Milgoma said.

A former Minister of Women Affairs, Maryam Chiroma, appealed to Nigerians, especially women not to be deceived, saying `”the re-election of Jonathan will ensure the continuation of his transformation agenda.

Ms. Chiroma, who was also PDP’s former National Woman Leader, said, “the Nigerian women should use their majority population and voting power to re-elect Jonathan”.

Boko Haram Beheads 2 Men After Accusing Them Of Being Spies In New Video [Pix]

A video purporting to show the executions of two alleged spies was on Monday released by the Boko Haram Islamic sect.

One of the men was made to make a full confession, explaining his ‘crimes’ to the camera, before the pair were beheaded and their bodies shown to the camera.

The gruesome execution video echoes those posted by Islamic State and is the second released by Boko Haram.

The video, called ‘Harvest of Spies’, was posted on Monday on Twitter by Boko Haram, Mail Online quoted the SITE intelligence group as saying on Monday.

It started by showing a man kneeling in the foreground with a group of Boko Haram fighters approaching him holding a flag used by militant Islamist group.

In a theatrical display previously seen in the execution videos released by ISIS, the men lined up behind the victim.

The video then cuts to show two men, identified as Dawoud Muhammad and Muhammad Awlu, led by Boko Haram fighters before being made to kneel.

One Boko Haram fighter, whose face was blurred by the militant group, stood behind Dawoud Muhammad, holding a large knife.

Muhammad told the camera that he was a farmer from Baga, Borno State and wasthen made to answer a series of questions at knifepoint.

Muhammad revealed that hat he had been approached by a police officer who offered him money in exchange for infiltrating Boko Haram.

“We went to see a man from Mijka and a police officer that was with him. The officer gave me N5,000,” Muhammad said.

Muhammad was also made to confess that their mission had been to spy on the “residents who live here” (Boko Haram), and in exchange for spying, the police officer had promised him that he would “become rich and will never go back to be a farmer again.”

The camera panned from left to right in slow motion, showing Muhammad and Awlu on their knees as they were executed by Boko Haram fighters.

The video faded before the actual beheadings took place, and then showed the two men’s bodies with their heads placed upon their chests.

The video does not reveal how the spies were caught by the militants and MailOnline has yet to confirm its authenticity.

Boko Haram previously published only one beheading, of a Nigerian fighter pilot whose plane went missing in September.

Bomb Explosion Rocks Bauchi Road Motor Car Park In Jos

An explosion has occurred at the Bauchi Road motor park in Jos, and many people are feared killed.

A witness, Awalu Sani, told PREMIUM TIMES the explosion has killed a yet unknown number of people, injuring several others and destroying many vehicles.

Details of the incident are still sketchy. The Police in Jos could not be reached for comments at this time.

The report of the explosion in Jos came hours after another suicide bombing killed 20 people and injured 17 others in Biu, Borno state.

The suicide bomber, driving a tricycle, had scaled through a security checkpoint, blasting himself near a crowded neighbourhood.

The suicide attack occurred at about 3pm when the male bomber sneaked past a the checkpoint which another suicide bomber attacked last Wednesday, and detonated the explosive after alighting from a commercial tricycle, popularly known as Keke Napep.

A witness, who identified himself as Nasiru, ‎said, “The suicide bomber had come off the Keke Napep and was heading towards the roadside when the bomb went off, killing those that were inside the Keke Napep and those standing by the road side.

“Though the suicide bomber did not die immediately, he was later shot dead by angry members of Civillian-JTF. Many have been injured and some have died including the suicide bomber.”

Many killed as suicide bomber hits Borno bus station

A suicide bomber blew himself up at a crowded bus station in Biu, in Borno state, on Thursday, while a second bomber was shot dead before he could detonate his explosives, witnesses told AFP.
Babagana Kyari, a civilian vigilante, said “at least 18 people, including three women, died… and several others were injured” although there was no immediate corroboration of that death toll.

The attack happened after two men arrived the Tashar Gandu motor park on the edge of the town in Borno state, where one detonated his explosives among passengers and vendors, onlookers said.

The suicide bombing is the second this week, after 34 people were killed in a blast at a bus station in the city of Kano, on Tuesday. The death toll was revised upwards from the initial estimate of 10.

Another blast hours earlier, also at a bus station, killed 17 in the commercial capital of Yobe state, Potiskum, but it was not confirmed as a suicide attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for either bombing but Boko Haram has repeatedly targeted both places, as well as Biu.

On February 18, 36 people were killed when assailants in a motorised rickshaw detonated explosies at Yarmakumi village near Biu, with most of the victims child vendors and beggars.

The attacks again underscore the threat posed by Boko Haram, which experts say may resort to such tactics as they are pushed out of captured territory in the northeast by a multi-national military force.

The two men in the latest attack pretended to be traders leaving Biu after business at the main market, which takes place every Thursday and Sunday, said Kyari.

“The two men came as if they were travellers and one of them detonated his explosives in the midst of travellers and petty traders,” the vigilante added.

“But the second man was shot and killed by soldiers before he could pulled the trigger.”

Resident Ali Dauda said the scene was cordoned off by soldiers and vigilantes, while they waited the arrival of the police bomb squad to defuse the unexploded explosives on the second attacker.

“The first bomber succeeded in detonating his explosives, which caused many casualties, but the second bomber was killed and his body is still lying at the scene with the explosives on it,” he added.

Adulterous Johannesburg couple stuck together after sex

A Johannesburg man and an adulterous woman found themselves unable to separate from each other after having sex in the woman's home last Thursday, this is according to a report by SA's Daily Sun. When the man and the married woman got stuck together, they screamed for help, attracting the attention of many people in the neighbourhood. Read the full story from Daily Sun below..
The cheater had been warned: “Leave my wife alone! I have put special muthi in her punani.” But the cheaters again ignored the warning and ended up getting stuck together. They found themselves screaming for help, begging to be separated.
The rumour quickly spread that a cheating man had died after he got stuck in his lover’s punani. And a crowd of about 2,000 people gathered at Dena Court in Yeoville, Joburg.
The police had to be called. People were allegedly pepper sprayed and the amaBerethe chased people away with sjamboks. Many people claimed the police fired rubber bullets.
Priscilla Ndlovu (34) who claims to be a resident at the same flats told Daily Sun they heard screams from the room where the woman stays on Thursday night.
“At first we thought it was just the screams of sexual pleasure, but it turned to be screams for help,” said Priscilla.

She said they called the security who forced the door open and saw the naked man on top of the naked woman pleading for help to be separated, but nobody could force them apart.”

She said everyone was shocked and afraid of what they saw.
“We always hear of such things happening but we have never seen it,” she said.

A family member of the husband of the cheating wife said the husband had been complaining about his cheating wife.
“He complained she was going out with his friend,” said the woman.
“I think he locked his wife to catch the man she’s cheating with.”
She said in Zimbabwe, where they come from, it is a common way of catching cheating men and women.
“No one will separate them until the husband comes back from Zimbabwe to unlock them,” she said.

A Zimbabwean who spoke to Daily Sun said locking a woman with muthi was a common way of catching and punishing cheating lovers in their country.
By Friday morning, when the crowd saw the ambulance at the flats they chanted: “We want to see them! Show us the cheaters!”

Cops were kept busy keeping the crowd at bay.

Three streets were blocked off, causing major traffic jams and motorists had to use alternative routes.
The ambulance finally raced off at high speed.

It is not known if the couple were inside. Neither the police nor the paramedics could confirm if the two were taken to hospital or not.

Sangoma Mathabo Mofokeng said husbands put muthi in their wives’ punani to lock their women.
“There is muthi that is used by some men to catch cheating couples,” she said.

Woman gives birth to baby without arms in Ogun, husband runs [Pix]

A woman identified as Mrs Taiwo Sheriffdeen gave birth to a baby boy without arms in Ifo LGA of Ogun state on Tuesday February 24th. According to a report by Punch, the woman gave birth to the baby, her first child, at Majotal Hospital, a private hospital in the Ilogbo area of Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state.

Speaking on the birth of her deformed baby, the mother said her husband, Mudashiru Sheriffdeen, ran away after he was told that their child was deformed at birth (the baby pictured above).
“This is my first child and I do not know why I gave birth to this kind of a baby. Immediately my husband was informed that his son had deformity, he ran away and had not come to see me. He is a commercial bus driver, and we had been married now for almost two years before God decided to answer our prayers.
When I was pregnant, we took every steps that the doctor directed us to take, but we did not know why we came about this calamity" she said.
According to the woman, her husband and the landlord of the place where she lives have asked her not to bring the child home. She also pleaded with the government to come and help her by adopting her baby
“I have been warned by both my husband and our landlord not to bring the child home. The hospital management has asked us to leave the hospital. Now, this child and I have nowhere to go, I don’t need this baby. I want government to adopt him.” she said

South Korea legalizes adultery

I told you guys there's something wrong with these Asian countries. Lol. From forcing people to go on vacation to have sex and produce more babies, to renting boyfriends and now they are legalizing adultery. South Korea has formally legalized adultery in their country...but not in a bad way!

The South Korean Constitutional Court at its plenary session yesterday February 25th struck down a 60-year-old law which forbids all act of adultery and punishes violators with two years imprisonment.

The presiding justice, Park Han-Chul while striking out the law said even though the act of adultery is bad, the country had no power in interfering in peoples private lives
“Even if adultery should be condemned as immoral, state power should not intervene in individuals’ private lives,” said presiding justice Park Han-Chul.
In the last six years, close to 5,500 people have been formerly arraigned on adultery charges including nearly 900 in 2014. In 2004, 216 people were jailed for adultery but the numbers dropped to 42 in 2008 and from 2008 till date, only 22 people had been sentenced to jail.

Now, married people in South Korea can have sex with other people and not face any penalty. I kinda support this. Why jail someone for adultery? It's too personal biko...something only the person's partner should deal with...

Meet The Italian Surgeon Who say He Can do Head Transplant

How is this even possible? Italian surgeon, Sergio Canavero (pictured above), believes that head transplants are possible. That is taking a patient's head and grafting it onto a healthy body. This will be for paralysed patients and those with incurable illness. Dr. Canavero said both heads would be removed at the same time and then he would glue the patient's head onto the donor's body. Sounds to me like a crazy doctor. If you remove someone's head, is that not automatic death? Biko read the report after the cut and tell me maybe I'm the one who's not understanding it...before I yawere trying to understand...

It sounds like the plot of a bad horror film, but doctors are gearing up to do the world’s first head transplant.
Italian surgeon Sergio Canavero wants to take the head from someone with an incurable illness and graft it on to a healthy body. He claims the first operation could be done in just two years’ time.

The £7.5million body swap would initially be used to give a new lease of life to paralysed people – including those with spinal cord injuries similar to those sustained by the late actor Christopher Reeve.

People with muscle-wasting diseases and those whose organs are riddled with cancer could also have their head put on a new body.
Those with motor neurone disease, the condition suffered by Stephen Hawking and portrayed by Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne in the film The Theory of Everything, might also benefit.
Eventually, the technique could be used to extend the life of healthy people in the ‘ultimate cosmetic surgery’.
Critics have described the plans as ‘pure fantasy’, but Dr Canavero claims all the necessary techniques exist and that he just needs to put them together. It is already more than 40 years since the first monkey head transplant and a basic operation on a mouse has just been done in China.
Dr Canavero already has a long list of potential patients, and will announce his plans at a top medical conference this summer in a bid to get the backing needed to do the first transplant in 2017.
The location has yet to be decided, but the surgeon, from the Turin Advanced Neuromodulation Group, says he would love to do it in London.
The new body would come from a normal transplant donor who is brain dead. Both the donor and the patient would have their head severed from their spinal cord at the same time, using an ultra-sharp blade to give a clean cut. The patient’s head would then be moved on to the donor’s body and attached using a ‘glue’ called polyethylene glycol to fuse the two ends of the spinal cord together.
The muscles and blood supply would be stitched up, before the patient is put in a coma for four weeks to stop them moving while the head and body heal together.
If that doesn’t sound bizarre enough, they would then be given small electric shocks to stimulate their spinal cord and strengthen the connections between their head and new body.
When the patient is brought out of their medically-induced coma, they should be able to move, feel their face and even speak with the same voice, this week’s New Scientist reports. Powerful immunosuppressant drugs should stop the new body from being rejected and intensive psychological support would also be provided.
Dr Canavero says he believes it would be ethically sound to carry out the procedure when people have no other hope of a cure.
However, the ethical arguments extend past the transplant itself.
For instance, if the patient went on to have children, they would biologically belong to the donor because the sperm or eggs would have come from the new body.
Initially, a shortage of donors means that the surgery would be limited to those with severe illness. But eventually, it could be used to allow healthy people to live longer.
Dr Canavero said that if science reaches the stage when human cloning is easy, a 60-year-old could make a copy of themselves.
They could then put their old head on a new, healthy body made from their own DNA – meaning they would keep their memories and personality.
William Matthews, chairman of the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgeons, said: ‘I embrace the concept of spinal fusion and I think there are a lot of areas that a head transplant could be used but I disagree with Canavero on the timing.
‘He thinks it’s ready, I think it’s far into the future.’
But Harry Goldsmith, a California doctor who has carried out one of the few operations that has allowed someone with a spinal cord injury to walk again, said: ‘I don’t believe it will ever happen.’
