13 year old girl arrested in Kano wearing explosive vest [Pix]

The Kano state Police command today Dec. 24th arrested a 13 year old girl identified as Zahra'u Babban Gida who was found with explosives strapped on her body opposite the Kantin-Kwari textile market, same place where two female suicide bombers detonated bombs two weeks ago killing many.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police Alhaji Tashid Aderile Shinaba said she was arrested by police officers who found her moves suspicious. When interrogated, the young girl said her father was the one who took her to the people who strapped her with the bombs.

According to her, the unknown men told her she had to carry out the suicide attack in order to make heaven. She said the men told her they would kill her if she doesn't follow through with the bomb attack. The Kano state government however said that the young girl was not one of the missing Chibok girls.

Bomb Foiled in Minna, Security Man Ran Away.

Yesterday (12/11/2014) was a tragic day in the history of Federal College of Education, Kontagora, Niger State when a female suicide bomber who pretended as a berger was heading towards one of the school lecture hall before the bomb exploded and injured many students.

Today (13/11/2014)  in Minna the capital of Niger State, two suicide bombers was spotted at Mariam Babangida Girls Secondary School. One tried entering dressed up as a student with hijab on her while the other was in the car on standby. Luckily, the security on guard suspected the female suicide bomber when she was approaching the school gate. They asked her to lift up her hijab, on doing so, a bomb was seen wrapped on her. Funny but serious issue, the security man took to his heels when he saw the bomb ( even me self will run ooo). Eventually, the suicide bombers ran away without being caught.

Rumour going on that a letter was served to IBB primary school, minna and the Minna Central market by unknown people that sooner or later, they should expect an attack.

My advice, if you reside in minna or Niger State as a whole, please and please am begging you, avoid staying in a amidst plenty people, its dangerous.

People outside Niger State, please pray for peace in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.  Love you all!!!

Finally: Boko Haram Agrees To Swap 30 Chibok Girls For 18 Captured Members

There are indications that the Boko Haram has agreed to swap some of the abducted 219 Chibok girls for 18 members.

Nation reports that Boko Haram sent the list of its commanders and the 30 girls to be swapped to a minister, who is also a lawyer, an elder statesman and a key facilitator of peace with the sect, Comrade Shehu Sani, who is also the President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria.

The list, it was learnt, was sent after secret talks between a government delegation and a Boko Haram commander, who is being detained in Kuje Prison in Abuja.

But there was no confirmation of this last night.

According to the sources, the delegation, whose membership was kept under wrap, discussed with the commander, who is simply described as Umar.

One of the sources said: “Some top officials met with Umar about two weeks ago in Kuje Prison to discuss issues connected to the fate of the Chibok girls.

“We heard some inmates sharing this information that the sect might swap the girls with Umar and others. But all the details are still secret because Umar keeps to himself a lot”.

But another source said: “The delegation had a fruitful negotiation with Umar, who is one of the highly-rated commanders of Boko Haram. The group assured Umar of a swap and he has been looking forward to it.

“The sect has given a list of 18 of its members to be swapped with the abducted Chibok girls”.

The government has offered to release the 18 key Boko Haram leaders/ members only on the condition that all the Chibok girls will be freed.

“So, technically, the release of 30 girls was unacceptable to the government based on the advice of some security agents”, another source said, adding, “you can see why Nigerians should stop blaming Boko Haram from continuously keeping these girls in captivity. What is of concern now is to get even these 30 girls out to prove to the whole world that they are alive”.

Boko Haram kills another 24 in fresh Borno attack cos of N250,000

No fewer than 24 people were reportedly killed yesterday in an attack carried out by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in Kamuyya village, Biu Local Government Area of Borno State.

Boko Haram militants have recently intensified bloody attacks in the rural areas as over 100 villagers have reportedly lost their lives within the last one week.

The latest incident occurred in the afternoon when dozens of the insurgents, armed with assault rifles and explosives invaded a weekly market in Kamuyya village, and killed 24 persons.

Residents said the insurgents had visited the town about two months ago and asked the village head to mobilise his subjects to contribute N250,000 for them to execute God’s work.

The villagers, most of them peasant farmers and petty traders, had only managed to raise N70,000, a situation which angered the insurgents.

They reportedly threatened to return and collect the balance, warning the community to either heed their demand within a stipulated period or face deadly attack.

A resident, Bukar Umar, said: “Actually, when they issued such threat, we all took it lightly and nobody bothered to make any extra effort to raise the amount they requested for.

“Maybe that was what ignited this bloody attack because we were unable to meet their demand.”

The attack

Umara said over 20 insurgents stormed the Kamuyya weekly market, when traders were conducting their businesses and opened fire into the crowd before setting shops and vehicles on fire.

According to him, “the militants, armed with sophisticated weapons, raided the area and proceeded to the major market. They began to shoot sporadicaally into the crowd, killing 24 people on the spot and burnt most of the shops in the market.”

He said the people were taken unawares as the town had not come under such heavy attacks for a long time.

He expressed dismay that innocent people were killed without the intervention of the security forces.

He said: “Throughout the onslaught, which lasted over five hours, there was no single security personnel to confront the invaders as they had a field day.

Food hunting

“The invaders snatched several vehicles and loaded them with bags of foodstuff before fleeing the area.

“They destroyed everything we have, carted away our foodstuff and burnt down the remaining ones.

“The most painful thing is that they did not spare even the fleeing residents as they trailed and killed anybody who attempted to escape.”

Another resident, who preferred anonymity, claimed that over 100 houses were burnt after the attackers killed 24 people, leaving several others wounded.

He decried absence of security operatives in the area, even as they alerted relevant authorities on the need to deploy troops to safeguard the community.

He said: “Immediately after the last week attack in Kimba village, where scores of people were murdered, we urged the security agents to deploy their personnel, but our appeal fell on deaf ears.”

The resident further explained that after wreaking havoc in market, the hoodlums proceeded to the main town and set houses and vehicles on fire.

“After the carnage in market, the militants moved into the main town as they set ablaze several houses and vehicles.”

Picture 2 shows that after the victims lay-down, they where all shot dead on the ground and some civilians are seen digging  the grave.

Picture 3 shows the mass burial of the victims seeing the military present with some few civilians whose faces are not seen in the earlier pictures.

Please viewers, just take a look at the pics yourself and try to analysis what could really happened at the scene and who are those to be suspected?

Jubilation as Soldiers invade B’Haram camp, impounds 700 vehicles

It was jubilation galore as the Special Forces involved in the ongoing campaign against the Boko Haram insurgents recently recorded what security sources have described as one the greatest breakthroughs in the campaign against terrorists in the North-East.
Investigations  revealed that the Special Forces, comprising ground troops and the Air Force fighters, had demobilized one of the strongest fortresses of the Boko Haram sect.
It was learnt that the soldiers, who carried out the operation, were shocked by the volume of arms and ammunition and hundreds of operational vehicles that they captured at the camp.
A source put the number of vehicles captured from the insurgents at 700 while several members of the sect were arrested.

The spokesman of the 7th Division, Col. Mohammed Dole, referred our correspondent to the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen Chris Olukolade, for comments on the issue.
Olukolade, who confirmed the capture of the Boko Haram camp, said that several terrorists who were wounded in the military raids were arrested and had made useful confessions.

The captured camp

The Director of Defence Information said in an electronic mail on Tuesday that some of the wounded terrorists who were captured near Lake Chad were pleading for mercy and were cooperating with interrogators from the Multi-National Joint Task Force.
Olukolade said that some of the insurgents were captured by troops around Dikwa, Cross Kauwa, Kukawa and Alargarmo.
He said that the captives revealed during interrogation that some of the camps were disbanded as the sect could no longer sustain the operation.
“In their confessions, it was revealed that some of the camps have been disbanded following the directive of their clerics who declared that the operation of the sect had come to an end as the mission could no longer be sustained.
“The captured terrorists, who are giving useful information as to the locations of their remnant forces, are full of apologies and pleas for their lives to be spared promising to cooperate,” the statement reads in part.
Olukolade said that the captured insurgents complained of starvation and the frequency of bombardments as some of the major problems which affected them.
The Defence spokesman warned members of the public to stay away from the area, saying troops were still continuing with the operation in the three states.
“They confirmed that starvation was a major problem in addition to ceaseless bombardments on the camp locations even when they kept relocating. They also confirm that several members of the group have been wounded and no treatment was forthcoming. Troops have continued their assault on other locations across the states covered by the state of emergency.
“Meanwhile, members of the public who have started visiting to engage in sight-seeing in some dislodged camps and fringes of forests such as Sambisa and others have been warned to desist from doing so as the tendency will no more be condoned where operations are still ongoing.
“The general area still remains a theatre and movement remains restricted as the environment has to be cleared for safety of citizens. The public will be informed when the locations are safe enough.”
It was learnt that the seized vehicles included those that the insurgents used for attacks and other vehicles they snatched from people.
Military sources said that the camp was well planned with boreholes, dispensary and other facilities to aid the operations of the insurgents.

Gunmen Kill 30 in Suspected Islamist Attack on Nigerian Wedding Convoy

At least 30 members of a wedding party are dead after being ambushed on a rural road in Borno State on north-eastern Nigeria, according to multiple media reports. The region is at the heart of an ongoing Islamist insurgency.

A wedding convoy was returning to state capital Maiduguri from the neighboring district along the mountainous Bama-Banki highway, which has become notorious for frequent attacks by Boko Haram, an extremist Islamic group, when attackers opened fire.

Eyewitnesses told local media that the groom, identified by his wedding robes, was among the dead, and bodies with gunshot and knife wounds were scattered across the road.

The massacre follows a pattern of escalating violence in the region in recent months, as the military steps up its efforts to root out the loosely-structured Boko Haram. The anti-Western and anti-Christian group, whose name is translated as ‘Western education is sinful’ from Hausa, is known for attacking government and civilian targets, including churches and schools.

The winding Bama-Banki passageway, which connects Nigeria with Cameroon, is a particular hotspot for disruptive activities, as Boko Haram often barricade the road, hijack cars, and attack army checkpoints along its route.

Last week Boko Haram fighters also made an assault on the city of Damaturu, destroying four police buildings in a five-hour gun battle, with official reports suggesting that more than 120 people died, including dozens of bystanders.

In turn, the government says it has taken out several Boko Haram strongholds, claiming the deaths of more than 100 insurgents in the past fortnight alone.
Nigeria, which has a population of over 170 million, is composed almost equally of Muslims and Christians, though the former dominate the north, and the latter the southern coastal areas.

Undergraduates, Others Arrested For Stealing N2bn From Bank

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested two young men who claimed to be undergraduates of the University of Jos, Isaiah Friday and Azzaior Samuel, for an alleged N2.05bn fraud.
undergraduates arrested for N2bn fraud

Two bureau de change operators, Salihu Mahmoud and Dan Ibrahim, were also arrested in connection with the alleged crime.
The suspects were also accused of being members of a syndicate that specialized in breaking into the computer data base of financial institutions to carry out dry posting of funds.
The Head, Media and Publicity, EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspects were arrested in Lagos and Jos.

He said, “Their arrest comes on the heels of a petition which the commission received from Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Marina, Lagos, in January 2013, alleging that a criminal attack had been launched on its data base known as ‘Flexcube’, by yet-to-be-identified criminals who falsified the bank records and accounts and created unjustified huge opening balances in several accounts across the bank’s branches. They subsequently transferred funds from those accounts to several accounts in other banks.

“The petition, which was signed by one A.F Olufade, Head of Fraud Investigation at the bank, said cash withdrawals and electronic transfers totalling N2.05bn was involved in the scam.”
It was learnt that EFCC initial investigation showed that Friday, who was carrying out computer system maintenance services for one of the Union Bank branches in Jos, Plateau State, on a part-time basis, paved the way for the fraudsters to penetrate the bank’s database.
Uwujaren said, “Friday was traced and arrested. His arrest led to the arrest of Azaaior Samuel.
“Investigations further revealed that Samuel introduced Friday to Mahmoud, who is the mastermind of the fraud with others now at large.

“Mahmoud and other collaborators told Friday that they needed access to the bank’s database in order to carry out some postings. They promised to give Friday N.5m if the deal succeeded.”
It was gathered that Friday agreed. On the day the crime was committed, he told people at the bank that Samuel was his colleague who had accompanied him to work.

It was learnt that after the gang had succeeded in gaining access to the bank’s premises, it carried out the postings to six different company accounts domiciled in Union Bank’s Marina branch in Lagos.
Uwujaren said, “The accounts are Gona Bureau De Change Limited, Jaxmine Bureau De Change Limited, Dan Kawu Bureau De Change Limited, Godswill Great Communications, ZHG Services Limited and A and B Console Limited. The postings were carried out and the syndicate thereafter went to the bank to withdraw all the funds. Friday was paid as promised and other syndicate members now at large shared the remaining balance.”

The EFCC spokesman added that the commission had been able to recover   $2,129,900 and another N134,542, from  the fraudsters.
He said, “Other items recovered are furniture worth N10m from Salihu Liman’s one bedroom apartment in Yaba, Lagos; four vehicles, landed properties in Kano and Kaduna and a four-bedroom duplex worth N45m in Lagos.
Investigation into the scam continues.”

Pandemonium in Ikorodu as strange images appear in mosque [Pix]

Barely a year after a child was reportedly born with a copy of the Holy Quran in Lagos and another born with an Islamic rosary, (Tesbah) in Sagamu, Ogun State. Last Tuesday, another amazing event occurred at Owode Onirin, Ikorodu, Lagos; as images of some clerics who died decades ago were believed to have made sudden appearances on the walls of Dawiz Central Mosque in the area.

When our agent visited the mosque, thousands of people and passers-by storm the mosque to have a glimpse.

The images were identified as that of late Sheikh Ahmada Tijani, (Algeria) Sheikh Ibraheem Niass, (Senegal) Sheikh Jamiu Bulala. (Nigeria)

Although the images were not clear as at the time our agent visited, but those who spoke to our agent said the images were clearer on Tuesday when they were first noticed.

Perceived image of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass
According to Eye-witness: “The images were noticed on Tuesday September 3, on the walls of the mosque which was constructed a few months ago and owned by Sheikh Musa Alegbeleye.”

It was gathered that four months ago, the image of Sheikh Jamiu Bulala Islamic Cleric, who had died two decades ago appeared first faintly to the consternation of Muslim faithful and they decided never to make it public to creat any doubt.

The strange occurence has turned the serene Owode Onirin area into a Makkah of sorts as people thronged the area not only to see but to also offer some prayers. Right inside the mosque, people were seen holding bottles/satchets of water muttering prayers and shouting Allahu Akbar (God is great). Some were even seen bowing to the image.
People bowing to the obscure image
Efforts to speak with the founder of the group and leader of the mosque, Sheikh Alegbeleye, was futile, as we were told he was sleeping after observing several vigil prayers.

Speaking on the development and an eye-witness, the President of Islamic society of Nigeria, Lagos State Mukadam Alhaji Samodu Onikoyi confirmed the appearance of the images.  “We started noticing a very faint image which came with intermittent brightness on the inside wall of the mosque which were replica of the portrait of Sheikh Ibrahim Niass, Sheikh Jamiu Bulala and Sheikh Ahmaa Tijani engraved on the walls of the building.”

How it Happened: “A member of the mosque Alhaja Idayatu Idera Afolabi first noticed it and she rushed out to inform everybody and when we saw it, we decided to cover it, because we thought if we announce it, people will think it is ruse that one is trying to play on their intelligence.  But when I also saw it, I was greatly terrified, wondering how such thing could have happened”.

Perceived image of Sheikh Jamiu Bulala outside the mosque
“My thought was that the image would eventually disappeared but on the second day, it brightened more and started showing on all sides of the building which made us to still cover it untill it became public“.

An eye-witness also disclosed that attempt was made by some individuals to wash off the images but to no avail; adding that the more they try to rub it off, the more the images become clearer.

Non-Muslims’ comment
I don’t believe it — Mrs Oluranti Jonson
For me, that image is not real and it’s an evil imagination. Because the Bible says Jesus will come down with the Holy Saints and Prophet at the last day. And I will advice those clerics to stop deceiving people because I don’t understand what that means and I have not seen such before.
Crowd trying to gain entry into the mosque
It’s a sign of end time — Mr Mike Nwoha
This is unbelievable, although as a Christian, I’m not trying to say this is evil but to them they believe; it’s a sign of end time and some of them said it is stated in the Koran. So, I cannot judge, only God knows the truth about it. All I can say is that we are all serving the living God, there should not be anything like the Muslims are idol worshipers but to me this is a sign of end time. So, people should mend their ways.

Also, one Mrs Idayatu Afolabi said: “When we saw that the image, it was a strange thing, I told my husband to inform those that know better than us, it was then we called on the Imam who told us not to announce it until now that the images decided to brighten up on the wall of the mosque building “.

The shout of “Allahu Akbar” (God is Great) rented the air as hundreds of people continue to find their ways to the the Mosque in Owode Onirin to have a glimpse
